In April 2007 a team from Learning and Schools, Newham VIth Form College (NewVIc) and SHiNE, together with three young people will travel to Namibia for a second exchange programme. Building on the monologues the visiting Namibians performed in Newham last year, the young people will work together in Windhoek to explore issues of early teenage pregnancy and HIV/Aids. They will then begin to write monologue and duologue scripts which explore and highlight the issues raised. Three young Namibians will then visit Newham later this year to rehearse and perform with Newham students in secondary schools and at Stratford Circus. In October they will come together again to re-script and film the project for an education resource for teachers and learners in both Newham and Namibia.
