Our vision is that by 2012 and beyond, young people in East London, in Namibia and in other partnering countries will have gained opportunities to connect with and learn from each other, developing global awareness, mutual respect and setting and achieving personal goals through creative arts programs in equal partnership and collaboration.
- Why?
Young people everywhere need a vehicle for developing their sense of global citizenship, responsibility and interpersonal skills. In cities and communities all over the world, there is a need to encourage young people as ambassadors who can manage themselves with confidence and pride, whilst respecting and feeling safe to connect with others from different cultures and faiths.
- How?
LiveEd delivers through a program of performing arts exchanges, sharing of information, training for potential young leaders, accreditation through the new Arts Awards and shared performance events in UK and other participating countries.
- Impact?
LiveEd will help to build capacity and raise the level of delivering creative arts organisations. It will contribute to the development of young ambassadors and a skilled, confident workforce, able to compete in the fast changing and technological world we live in.
- Reliability?
The London Borough of Newham, where LiveEd was originally conceived, already has a strong creative arts base, both in education and the informal sector. Through established and developing partnerships operating successfully and a robust infrastructure of performance events, LiveEd is ready to offer a solid and reliable basis for delivery.
